We are back from the 2019 Odoo Experience, we had a great time with the Odoo community! We saw, from Fabien Pinckaers' keynote and the various conferences organized, the new features of this very promising version!
The main changes will affect Marketing and Accounting, two major assets in an ERP and two essential elements in a business.
New Social Marketing module
This module meets the needs of marketers on the time spent managing social networks! Live statistics from each network and a publication schedule are now integrated into Odoo.
Campaign templates are also available to find better inspiration. Finally, marketing campaigns can be done via SMS. This is a major breakthrough in the social field, at a time when everyone uses their phone on a daily basis.
Website's evolution
A nice novelty has been added to the website: the blog and forum pages are much more attractive and intuitive.
In order not to lose visitors, a website must be efficient and fast, Odoo has improved the loading time of its websites.
Wether it is a showcase or an e-commerce, a website is made to generate leads. Odoo now allows you to have a visual on visitors and to converse with them if necessary. It may be a matter of offer them a promotion or guiding them in their choices.
A major improvement in Accounting
Accounting is a field no business can do without. In order to have a fully efficient activity management, it is important to possess an accounting too and implement it in the ERP.
For this new version, Odoo has improved the interface and the clarity of the editions (addition of filters) and the import of invoices in bulk.
To meet legal obligations, the tool has also been enriched with features regarding taxes. Their configuration is simpler, a periodic closure with a locking date and facilitated exports.

New Rental module
Buying and selling are essential business areas. However their activities are reduced by renting.
The ERP and its new version offer a rental management module. Thus it is possible to manage deliveries and returns of rented products. It is also possible to manage the costs of additional returns.
The dates and rentals are organized with a Gantt's diagram.
Employees : Sur ce module, quelques évolutions ont été effectuées, comme le contrôle de la présence des employés. Le principe du RGPD a été respecté. En effet, les employés ont maintenant la possibilité d'éditer les informations leur appartenant.
They are also highlighted by the possibility of integrating the skills acquired with their level on their employee file.
Outside of the website, e-commerce also had significant improvements. On the products sheet, the variants can now have additional pictures, a warehouse can be linked to e-commerce. On the website the product description can be modified directly and a "Buy Now" button allows you to quickly optimize purchases.
